June 6–7, 2008

A microscopic nation—just the capital and a couple of villages. You can see the entire country in an hour.

Its neighbors are Switzerland, Austria and Germany, but Lichtenstein is de-facto a Swiss country.

Of course, it has its own license plates.

And its own postage stamps.

And post boxes (about 15 of them in the entire country).

And bus stops.

And even its own brand color for everything bus-related.

But the currency here is Swiss francs, not euros. And the phone booths are also Swiss, only painted a different color.

My coffee came with a chocolate bearing a familiar name. Turns out, an excellent exhibition of Russian Constructivism is currently on at the local museum, with every work imaginable on display including the Black Square.

Other than that, though, it’s a regular hole. Albeit a cozy one.
