Puerto RicoMapJanuary 13, 2013 Many consider Puerto Rico to be the 51st state of the United States. ![]() Alms are given in dollars here. ![]() Azerbaijan is advertised at the airport. ![]() The modern part of the city consists of generic resort developments. ![]() But not to worry—a stone’s throw away is charming colonial Old San Juan. ![]() A trash can for historic streets. ![]() Another version with feet that’s also pretty nice. ![]() A trash can built into a concrete wall. ![]() A trash can that compacts waste using solar power (like on the Isle of Man). ![]() A single-use cardboard trash can. ![]() Dumpsters. ![]() A fire hydrant. ![]() A map of the capital. ![]() A pedestrian. ![]() Slippery road. ![]() A license plate. ![]() Someone has taken their dolls along for a ride. ![]() Someone is selling towels to suit any taste. ![]() Someone is traveling with their bulldog in tow. ![]() Somewhere, an iguana is taking a stroll. ![]() Someone’s got benches with footstools. ![]() Water works hatches. ![]() A bus stop with a sign depicting what a bus stop should look like. ![]() Signs that say “Your 1¢ Sales Tax at Work” appear on flowerbeds around the island. ![]() Old San Juan has the most beautiful lawn I’ve ever seen: a square kilometer of green grass with a view of the sea, an old Spanish fort at one end, people flying kites everywhere. The lawn is perfectly kept and practically invites you to spend half the day lazing around. ![]() There’s also another option right here on the shore for those who’d like to stay even longer. ![]() |
