Anguilla

This small island nation is a contender for the title of one of the most pointless countries in the world.

The experienced traveler will be somewhat disheartened by the fact that there’s simply nothing here. Although, look—two excavators overgrown with grass! Our story is saved!

Trash dumpsters stand along the road which encircles the island.

A payphone.

A traffic light.

A post box.

An old rusty British post box built into a concrete stick of butter. To the right is an old electrical box.

Police.

It just so happens that dolphins like to hang out specifically around Anguilla (although there are also other islands nearby). This is why the country’s coat of arms features three dolphins. Next to the sculpture of the three dolphins is a concrete booth with electricity meters and a house-like roof.

The house motif is an essential element in the decor of Anguilla’s electricity meters.

And graves.

The top floors of many buildings are still unfinished and uninhabited (like in Albania or Bolivia). Haven’t saved up enough for them yet.

A pedestrian crosswalk.

A tsunami escape plan.

The speed bump female connector.

The national dish is rice or peas and fish.

All the utility poles are numbered.

A license plate.

Expensive resorts and luxury villas can be found in several places around the island.

An HIV transmission diagram. For some reason, the pair in the center has exclusively same-sex partners, although further down the chain the relationships are predominantly heterosexual.

Anguilla has a capital.

Unfortunately, the buildings in it are so widely spaced apart that it’s fairly difficult to get a sense of the city.

There’s only one intersection where, if you use your imagination, it becomes possible to believe you’re in a city.

Well then, I think I’ve shown everything there is to show here.

Oh look, a cactus!

Ok, now that’s definitely everything.
