Hong KongMapJune 4–5, 2013 The city is still just as wonderful. ![]() Just as full of life. ![]() Standalone cigarette receptacles have appeared next to the regular trash cans, which already have ashtrays built into the top. ![]() It’s interesting to observe how the iconic form of the Hong Kong trash can is being gradually replaced with depictions of itself. Coke cans with the Coke bottle silhouette on them are a similar story. Here the rectangular steel trash can has a picture of the classic orange trash can on it, while an actual orange can is still standing next to it for the time being. ![]() And here a picture of a classic Chinese trash can with a lid (on the far right) is used to represent any type of waste not covered by the other three containers. ![]() Chinese characters play the role of passengers, demonstrating how to (or how not to) enter a train car, stand on the escalator, and so on. ![]() A picture of the near future: all the passengers on the subway have their faces buried in their cell phones. At least half the people on the Moscow metro already look like this. ![]() |
