LimburgMapApril 17, 2008 My flight from Milan lands in Frankfurt am Main. The airport personnel are playing cards, completely ignoring the planeful of passengers who have just arrived. ![]() Limburg is a tiny cutesy town not far from Frankfurt. It sort of reminds me of Marburg. ![]() The Old Town boasts several streets with preserved Medieval buildings. But there aren’t many truly old things left here. ![]() The post box has been stylized to look like an antique. ![]() Tourist season hasn’t started yet. ![]() Slots of different shapes for different types of trash are an excellent idea. ![]() The frame for the street signs works similarly to a trombone slide: it adjusts to fit the width of the plaque. ![]() The traffic lights are black on the front and coffee-and-cream colored on the back (bringing the ones in Lyon to mind). ![]() This is the first time I come across an outdoor bulletin board with today’s paper in Europe. What’s even more surprising is that people are actually reading it. Until now, I’d only noticed something like this in Oslo, North Korea and China. ![]() A local scale model shop sells a kit for a KV-1 tank. Will be victory, no doubt about it. ![]() Will be victory |
