Tiny Christmas Tales. Part VI. SwitzerlandMapJanuary 5, 2014 Simple, useful rules are always a great thing. So many dumb injuries and deaths could be avoided by heeding the following advice: pedestrians and drivers should always try to make eye contact. If there’s no eye contact, it’s very likely that one just doesn’t see the other. ![]() KreuzlingenMapThis is the other, Swiss half of the city (the German half is called Konstanz). It’s amazing how one and the same city can be so different—it’s almost like the difference between North and South Korea. The German part is delightful, beautiful and old; the Swiss part is dull and generic. ![]() Houses are covered with scales here. ![]() St. GallenMapA charming little town. ![]() Something I noticed long ago: if a city has trolleybuses, it simply can’t be bad. ![]() It’s great that such places exist. ![]() Driving through a city like this is much nicer than taking a bypass. ![]() |
