Hungary. Part II

Szombathely
Map
A typical representative of the average Hungarian city. You’d hardly want to spend the weekend in a place like this.
Look at the beauty on the left! What balconies, what perspective! Too bad it’s just a painting. Many thanks to the kind person who decorated the gray firewall.
Budapest
Map
Budapest is always magnificent down to the last detail.
If there’s a lamppost, it’s going to be an exquisite one.
If there are support poles for overhead tram lines, they’re going to be spectacular.
If there are power boxes in the street, they’ll be gorgeous.
Debrecen
Map
People don’t come to Debrecen to see this.
The most interesting thing here is a church with ten clock faces (four on each dome and one on each of the pediments). There’s probably another couple inside as well.
The yellow brick curbstones are cute and unexpected.
Manhole covers.
A street sign.
The old phone booth model isn’t that great.
But the new one would serve as a worthy decoration just about anywhere.
It’s always interesting to see how pedestrian traffic creates footpaths in places where it’s actually convenient for people to walk, and not where the planners intended.
A Hungarian shop window. The realities of life in all their glory.
