Perm

Map

December 6–7, 2010

Perm is under attack from winter.

The windows are covered with frost, and the walls with patterns.

Olympian Sports Complex

I don’t remember if I’ve ever mentioned the buses in my previous reports about Perm. The thing is, they’re all privately owned here and, coincidentally, all decommissioned German ones. It looks a bit strange, especially given the fact that no one ever got around to removing the German ads and signage.

The residents of Perm were in for a surprise early one December morning.

A new bus shelter had appeared next to the Perm Museum of Modern Art. Its design was developed by your unhumble servant and his colleagues. This is the only bus stop in Russia that will be illuminated at night.

Red “П” letters, the logo of the city, are gradually appearing on the streets in various contexts.
